Saint Louis Park Wedding at Warehouse Winery

Nate and Emily

I just photographed the first of only a few weddings I've signed on to do this year, and it was so fun!

I hadn't met Nate OR Emily prior to their wedding day, and that's pretty uncommon for me. It really wasn't a big deal. I already knew I'd work well with them from talking to Emily on the phone.  Our conversation only made me a little apprehensive about the location of the ceremony and reception than anything else.  Based on how it was described to me, I didn't have any idea what to expect!

If you haven't been to the Warehouse Winery yet, you are missing out. I always check out a venue prior to my first job there--at least online, and my curiosity was definitely piqued.  After a little digging I learned that that the owner of the event center is not only a highly regarded local winemaker, but also an world traveler and avid collector.  The entire space is filled with an eclectic collection of furniture, art, and antiques, and it makes for an interesting and playful wedding/event backdrop!

I started out thinking it might be overwhelming if I were at all focused on what was in the background of any particular shot, so I quickly decided I was just going to have fun with it, and not worry if there was part of an elephant skull in part of my shot. It is a warehouse, after all, and it's not really trying to be anything else.  The alley OUTSIDE the warehouse is not really trying to be anything other than an alley outside of a warehouse, and I like that about it!

It was a great place to shoot;  I could tell the guests were enchanted, too.

Nate and Emily were such an adorable couple; so obviously in love, and very much in "LIKE," if you  know what I mean.  Anyone can tell they're besties, and they so clearly make each other very happy.

It was a good day.

My only regret is that I forgot to buy some wine before I left.
