Toddlers/Babies – Studio

I’m just going to post a few more studio sessions. I really wish I had the time to post a little bit of something from every session;  There is also a lot I would have liked to say about some of these kids had I had the time.  This age is very entertaining!

Tomorrow I’ll be making my last “catch up” post for a few newborns, and then I’m going to shift my focus to 2011.  This is the slower time of year when I like to update my website, price list, etc… and I have some new ideas that I think will be received very well by new and existing clients!

Babies/Toddlers

I’m thinking this may have to be a two-part post, since this is the most extensive category!  Maybe I’ll shoot for just a few from each session.

(These first ones are from my August mini session!)

Tomorrow…  TODDLERS!  Goodnight!

Becker

Like most people out there, I’m without a doubt my own worst critic.  This day, however, I had to give myself a little pat on the back!  It took some serious coaxing to get  Becker to even stand on the backdrop, much less look at the camera. The funny thing is, in hindsight I don’t even remember what I said or did to make him come around.  Whatever it was, it worked!

Jacob

Jacob had a long car ride here and was in no mood for photographs when he walked in the door.  (And who could blame him?!)

All I have to say is;  thank GOD for these bells!  If you’ve been here before, you’ve probably seen them.  I’m not into tickle feathers on a stick or birdies, but in a pinch, these seem to cheer even the most obstinate of tots.  I got them at Creative Kidstuff; (and parents do ask!) and aside from my lighting equipment, they may very well be the best studio investment I’ve made.  Newborns love the sound of them and toddlers love to shake ‘em!

Before long Jacob was laughing and dancing and showing off his beautiful dimples!

Here’s where you can find the bells;  They come in these great colors and each rings a different note!

This was how I finished my weekend last Sunday, with these two fun appointments…

Bereket

Pronounced Bear – e – ket, and affectionately called “Bear” by his parents; this little guy had THE BEST expressions;  The whole gallery is just a series of happy, excited, surprised, and sometimes perplexed faces, and each one is better than the last!   Bereket was adopted from Ethiopia a few short months ago.  I think he is really, really happy to be here, and he’s obviously LOVING his mom and dad.  They were sitting behind me when I shot these, and are the main reason for these smiles…

His parents brought along this traditional Ethiopian ensemble they got when they went there to bring him home.  I think he looks quite handsome in it!

Next was Julia  –   Again:  Just as happy as a clam!

Eleanor

This little sprite  is only two and seemingly mature beyond her years!  Her parents confirmed that she  is tall for her age, but even chatting with her was like talking to a three or four year old!  (Her mother is a teacher;  go figure!)

Stuck in (yet another!)  hot and humid night, Eleanor asked me if we were almost done not two minutes into our session.   I told her we were just getting warmed up, and so I guess she decided to make the best of it!

Although Eleanor had a couple different hipster spectacle frames with her, (so cool, Eleanor!) her parents opted to leave her in these lovely lavender frames throughout the  shoot!

Brock

Here are a few of my incredibly sweet and handsome nephew, Brock.  I took these about a month ago and just never got around to posting any!

I feel the need to say this every time I post any images of my sister’s kids– and I know it’s hard to believe; but I did not enhance the blue in his eyes in any way, shape, or form!

Whoa!  I have fallen behind on my blogging!  This was another busy, busy weekend for me, including a wedding I photographed Friday night,  a parade I walked in Saturday afternoon, and more appointments on Sunday!

Here are some from a gallery I just finished up, but I still have others to post from last week.  I just had to put these out there quick…I must say, this little girl made it very easy for me to capture some great shots!  I felt like I could have had enough material after ten minutes of shooting with her, but I just couldn’t bring myself to stop!

So now on to the photos of my best friend, Kristi’s beautiful newborn Madeline!  (I know you are really chomping at the bit to view them Kristi!  :)   I’ll try and wrap ‘em up quick!)

Quintin and Courtney

The outdoor photos I took of these twins are the last of our “first year” sessions together.  They’re actually a few months older than that, but  I’m going to be making  a digital album for them and we wanted to include one more session of them walking around outside.

Here’s how they looked when they first came to see me over a year ago:

And here they are now, (not quite) all grown up!

As I type my hubby is outside decking out the Jeep for the Lonsdale Community Days parade!  If you’ll be there, look for me!  My friends and I will be handing out candy and coupons for free 8×10’s!
